Old Wise Tree GALLERY

Welcome to a unique gallery of Old Wise Trees from all over the world. You will find here a collection of artworks created in handmade bobbin lace technique. All participating lacemakers used the same pattern and materials of their choice. They applied their lacemaking skills and their imagination and created their unique interpretation of the theme.

Like old trees, the old craft of lace holds a profound wisdom. The knowledge collected over centuries becomes available to dedicated practitioners and guides them on their lacemaking path. This exhibition reveals the deep roots of bobbin lace technique, as well as its potential for growth and creativity in modern interpretation.

In the Old Wise Tree Gallery, you will meet contemporary lacemakers who, through their fine work, keep the art of handmade bobbin lace alive, current and delicately beautiful.
