Fair Use of Free Patterns

I am offering free patterns in good faith that they will be used responsibly and fairly without taking advantage of my work. To make it easier I compiled a set of guidelines for you to follow:

FAIR USE OF THE FREE PATTERN (what you can do with them):

  • You can print pricking and working diagrams for your own use
  • You can share pricking and working diagrams with your friends
  • You can work on the project with your lace group or club members
  • You can modify the pattern as you want
  • Editors of lace magazines: If you would like to publish the pattern, please contact me
  • Teachers: If you would like to use the free patterns in your class or workshop, please contact me

FAIR USE  OF FINISHED LACE BASED ON THE FREE PATTERNS (what you can do):

  • If you want to exhibit the finished artwork, please include credit to the designer: Lenka Suchanek, and  website: https://lenkas.com (or http://www.lenkas.com)
  • If you want to enter the finished artwork in a competition (real life or online) that allows works made by you from patterns designed by somebody else, please include credit to the designer: Lenka Suchanek, and a link to this website: https://lenkas.com (or http://www.lenkas.com)

FAIR USE OF PHOTOS OF FINISHED WORK (what you can do):

  • All photos of your finished lace intended for sharing in printed media (magazines, newsletters, postcards, etc) or online media (e-magazines, groups, social network sites – such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc, and especially Pinterest! – should include credit to the designer: Lenka Suchanek, and a link to this website: https://lenkas.com (or http://www.lenkas.com, or lenkas.com)

UNFAIR USE OF THE FREE PATTERN (what you cannot do):

  • You cannot sell the pattern to somebody else, in person or online
  • You cannot include the pattern in a any for-profit publication, in print or online
  • You cannot use the free patterns for teaching any for-profit classes and workshops

UNFAIR USE  OF THE FINISHED LACE BASED ON THE FREE PATTERNS (what you cannot do):

  • You cannot mass produce and sell works based on these free patterns
  • You cannot hire somebody to mass produce works based on these free patterns

UNFAIR USE  OF THE PHOTOS OF FINISHED WORK (what you cannot do):

  • You cannot use the image of your finished lace art work based on these free patterns in any for-profit enterprise, such as postcards, posters, desktop and screensavers, clothes or other merchandise that is for sale
