Workshop: ‘Two Hearts Are More Than One”

Pre-requisite: Bobbin Lace in Wire – Workshop #1 or previous experience with wire lacemaking
Instruction will cover: tape lace, beaded gimp, finishing lace as pendant
Class project: Lace heart (or two) in enamelled copper with beads
Tools: bring your own lacemaking pillow (cookie or bolster) and 6 pairs of bobbins (Lenka’s Medium bobbins for wire lace are recommended). Special bobbins for wire will be available in class – please let me know in advance if you need to borrow or buy any tools.
Description:
Continuing the tradition of February heart workshops, this year’s project is a new variation on the original theme. The new heart design expands potential of tape lace in jewellery making by introducing decorative filligree pattern in creative spatial solutions
. As always, the instruction will focus not only on practical bobbin lace techniques, but will also reflect on ability of lace to capture the most delicate feelings, such as two hearts joined in many ways…
Workshop fee: $125 + $5 for materials
