Bobbin Lace in Wire #6

Workshop: “Falling Leaves”
Date: September 29,  2018

Autumn brings the best lace designs offered by nature – trees are undressing to show off their petticoats, leaves reveal their lacy skeletons and splendid cobwebs, defying wind, rain and brooms, embelish the world with the finest lace ever… It is an invitation to all lacemakers to present their skills with bobbins and needles and express their creativity.  This “Falling Leaves” workshop is open to lacemakers of all levels – beginners will learn the basics in a simple leaf design; more experienced lacemakers can explore possibilities of colour in half stitch. Falling leaf motif is a great theme for lace novices and experts alike: one can never go too wild with fall colours, and never has to worry about perfection. A falling leaf, is after all, a falling leaf… a little bit eaten here, a little bit beaten there, but flying and dancing happily – just as it is. The Leaf can be finished as art object or as a pendant. It makes a wonderful gift any time of the year, but especially in fall.
