Workshop: “Bookworm Bookmark”
Date: Saturday, February 23, 2019
Time: 10:30am – 5:30pm
Location: Ocean Park, South Surrey, BC
Description:
This back to school workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as lacemakers with previous wire lace or fibre lace experience. Lace does not have to be just beautiful. It can be functional and practical as well. In this intensive one day workshop we will venture out in the world of books and learning, and will pursue those elusive, shy creatures who love books, and devour them with voracious appetite. We will observe their main features, and capture them in lace in a design full of shapes and colours. And then we will send the Bookworms out to their domain, a wonderful world of books and knowledge. Do you know any readers, young or old, who could use an original Bookworm Bookmark?
Skills Requirements: New lacemakers will learn basic moves of Cross and Twist, simple braid and a half stitch weave. Other lacemakers will apply their skills in more advanced design.
Instruction will cover: Half stitch + ; finishing lace as a bookmark
