Description:
Informal workshop to introduce handmade lace techniques will offer:
– a talk about lace history (with slide show, if AV equipment is available)
– encourage participants to share their stories and encounters with lace and lace craft
– lacemaking demonstration of various techniques
– small display of handmade lace artefacts, old and new, to encourage discussion
– brief introduction to basic lace stitches
– trial lacemaking pillows for all participants to try and practice
Come to listen and talk about lace history, share your lace stories, watch lacemaking demonstration and view delicate lace art. And even better – have a try at provided trial lacemaking pillows to see if there is a lacemaker in you waiting to be discovered!
