It is hard to believe that the summer is almost over. Our weather is still very nice, so I am able to take my work outside and enjoy the best of both worlds – lace and nature. Over the Labour Day long weekend I laboured to restock the Wire Lace Supplies shop. It was overdue, and I was very happy to receive shipments of the bobbins and wires just in time for the annual Back to School SALE.
Sadly, the New School of Lace in Surrey, British Columbia remains closed due to COVID-19 restrictions. My studio is too small for any kind of physical distancing, and besides that, I cannot really imagine teaching lacemaking techniques without being able to stand close to the students. It is unlikely that lacemakers will travel at this time for non-essential events, so there are no workshops planned either, at least until the end of the year.
In this unusual time, I am extending the annual BACK to SCHOOL SALE to the online lace community. From September 8th to 21st, lacemakers can buy wire lace supplies and patterns at 10-20% discount.
Canada Post is working, albeit without delivery time guarantees, so I can send the supplies to any lacemaker who plans to embark on brightly coloured wire lace journey.
Our beloved craft brings joy to our hearts and peace to our minds, and it is now more important than ever to keep it alive.
Let’s create amazing lace and help to heal the afflicted world!
